How to get in Las Terrenas - Peninsula of Samana


We are located in the center of Las Terrenas in the Samaná Pennisula, Dominican Republic just a 3 hour drive from SANTO DOMINGO and LAS AMERICAS International Airport and only 30 minutes from the new EL CATEY International Airport in Samaná. If you are travelling from Santiago or Puerto Plata it is a pleasant 3½ hour drive whereas the drive from LA ROMANA or PUNTA CANA can take between 4 to 5 hours.

Domestic flights are available from all the international airports to the local airport EL PORTILLO, just 5 minutes outside of town ! !

Local bus services are also available from the major cities directly to LAS TERRENAS whereas the two larger bus companies offer service to SANCHEZ, just 30 minutes from our town.

Once in Las Terrenas head towards Playa Las Ballenas, turn left at the Fishermens´ Village (Pueblo de los Pescadores) and 200 meters to the left you´ll come to Hotel La Tortuga.
